My Personal Story
I lay halfway in the seat bleeding and unable to move, I couldn’t feel my legs, fearing I was going to die… As the jaws of life arrived little did I know that even if I survived my life would never be the same. In 2000, as my life was devastated by a drunk driver crashing head-on into my car, as a result I was hospitalized for 45 days. Broken from shoulders to heal, unable to walk or barely move, bound to a wheelchair for three years, I refused to give up. They told me I probably wouldn’t walk again but I refused to give up. My story could have concluded with accepting my diagnosis, but triumphantly, wonderfully, what I feared was impossible was not.
I obtained a Master’s degree in business and became a dedicated entrepreneur in those three years. I remained hopeful I would walk again. They had given up on me, but I hadn’t given up on myself. Somehow, through the grace of God, I found the courage to face the challenge and never give up until the day I took my first step. I won’t get into the details of my pain and desperation during that time, and 10 surgeries later, as you might imagine, it was an uphill battle all the way. I will share a video soon on the whole story that will hopefully never let you give up! This is not told for your sympathy but to inspire your every effort.

I started both businesses with little money (the DUI driver had no insurance). Believe me, no matter the challenges, you can overcome them and come out on top—with the right attitude and belief in yourself. I am witness to that. I can’t promise I have all the answers, but we will find them together. No challenge is too significant or too tough to overcome.
With 25 years of experience, first, let me share that I have walked the journey, dreamed the dreams, imagined the success, launched the adventures, cried the tears, wanted to give up, fought the challenges, searched for support, and watched my boat rock through the storm to a calming sea. Stay steady and determined, and you will find what I found: the courage to move past your fears, faith, and belief in yourself. I encourage you to reach out for wisdom and not give up, gain the strength to reach the top, and persevere to succeed. My experience led me to my passion for creating the Biz Star Power support one-stop-shop that I would have given anything to have when I started my business.

I will utilize 25 years of experience, tough times, endurance, and education to help you stand firm in your dreams. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Social Work/Psychology at the University of Illinois and won the Frank Itzen Award for Outstanding Performance in Leadership. In 2005, I graduated with a Master’s degree in the Science of Business Administration from Missouri State University with honors and currently finishing an MBA in marketing & management.
